Quests and Lands

updated November 12th, 2019

So you've done all of Skyrim's quests, and it's taken you all of six hours! Whew! Now you need something substantial to do, but your retard strength broke your keyboard while failing to spell "Quest mods". Fear not my intrepid mongoloid, for we have you covered with the following adventuring mods. We'll organize these mods by there respective authors first. If they have only made one quest mod, they will be put under another category.

In this section, we will discuss:
-ThirteenOranges Mods
-Trainwiz Mods
-Quests
-Towns and Settlements

ThirteenOranges

ThirteenOranges is a well know Skyrim modder who has made numerous mods. All of them are well crafted to be great experiences. He's made quests, new locations and towns, and even a new faction. Oranges was a promising quest modder who was killed by Nexus Nazis for arbitrary reasons, and thus had to find new life in the Steam Workshop. His quest mods are all quite high quality, as you'll see. Really, just get them. The new Pit Fighter faction is actually the revival of the Windhelm arena, which was cancelled by Bethesda because of their tight release date.

We highly recommend you to try all of his mods! They're all well constructed and will keep you playing for hours!
You don't like the SteamWorkshop or you're just a filthy pirate? Here's a mirror link to the mods conviently packed. Remember to read the mod descriptions and check what other mods or DLC they require to work!
!!WARNING!!

I've been told that Oakwood is causing issues even with it being the only one in the load order. So as an advisory, proceed with caution with it if you want to use it.

Trainwiz

ALL PRAISE TO TRAINWIZ! GLORIOUS MODDER TRAINWIZ! Trainwiz is a /tesg/ regular, or should I say he used to, and a well known modder like ThirteenOranges. He's made many Morrowind mods as well, which all revolve around the Dwemer or trains; but mostly trains.
Be sure to try out Trainwiz's follower, Brhuce Hammar! He even comes with his own unique quests that are absolutely insane! Lore friendly or not, you'll love Brhuce's amazing quests!
The Wheels of Lull

The Wheels of Lull

A DLC-sized mod, but unlike Falskaar it was made by someone actually competent in a tenth of the time. Linking together all of Trainwiz's other mods, descend into the underworld of Nirn, around fifteen new quests, you'll confront strange new characters, with huge ass dungeons, puzzles, and unique weapons galore. It's probably the least train-related mod he's made.

World Eater Beater

World Eater Beater

World Eater Beater is a boss fight overhaul similar in style to my Morrowind mod "Versus Vivec". It takes an existing boss, and actually makes them not suck."But trainwiz" you drool at me, "Don't ther be already mod what make the Alduin strong". Well the thing is, they usually just beef up his health and make his attacks ridiculously overpowered. That's not my goal. My goal is to completely rescript and redo Alduin into something worthy of the title of "World Eater". - Trainwiz

The Lost Wonders of Mzark

The Lost Wonders of Mzark

A collaboration mod created by Trainwiz, Buffscale, and Guardly. Lost Wonders of Mzark is a quest/dungeon mod for those who prefer a more puzzle-oriented game. The enemies you encounter within must be disposed of in careful ways, and you'll find more than just fights awaiting you in the depths of Mzarnumez. You might think of it like Dead Money, but for Skyrim.

Aethernautics- A Space Travel Mod

Aethernautics- A Space Travel Mod

Aethernautics is a quest mod that adds several new areas, a new weapon type, new armors, new enemies, and of course, a spaceship that has space travel!

Blackreach Railroad

Blackreach Railroad

Blackreach Railroad is a travel and quest mod for the steam-oriented player. It adds a locomotive, a train line, and a series of train stations around Blackreach and other Dwemer ruins. After a short quest to reactivate the train, the player may then freely ride the engine throughout Blackreach. In addition to this, the player may choose to ride on uncharted track, thereby unlocking new stations throughout Skyrim. And for those wondering, you do indeed get a train hat.

Quests and Dungeons

One hit wonders made by some other people. They are all unique, but most of them include no islands or continents to explore. A great change of pace compared to the wilderness of Skyrim. You can find dangerous dwemer factories or even calm and somtimes melancholy Nordic crypts.
Project AHO

Project AHO

Project AHO is a large quest modification, comparable in size to a medium-sized DLC. Designed in the best traditions of Bethesda Game Studios, this mod adds to Skyrim a hidden settlement of Great House Telvanni. Determine its fate for yourself!

The Bottomless Pit

The Bottomless Pit

It's a bit of a mini game that makes you think and react vertically instead of horizontally. To find it, there are two treasure maps in Skyrim. One is in the corner of the desk in the Thieves Guild HQ. The other is on the corner of the desk in the College of Winterhold's Arcaneum.

Falmeroon - Legacy of the Snow Elves

Falmeroon - Legacy of the Snow Elves

This mod adds some Snow Elf ruins across Skyrim. Some can even be explored.

Unslaad

Unslaad

Another great quest mod by Vicn. This one is a small, and fluffy, quest that takes you to a castle of a half-dragon girl. Even has an fun boss fight! That's something new for Skyrim.

Notice Board

Notice Board

Adds notice boards around cities that serve as radiant quest hubs. This notice board contains many different quest notes. Every note starts a quest when it is selected (it immediately show you the quest description once chosen). Most of them are radiant quests. This means that are repeatable (with different characters or locations).

Clockwork (Clockwork Castle)

Clockwork (Clockwork Castle)

Clockwork is a quest mod for Skyrim set in and around Clockwork Castle; a full-featured player home. Once found, you may call the castle home... but if you want to leave, you'll need to discover how to escape.

VIGILANT

VIGILANT

A very Dark Souls/Bloodborne inspired quest mod that is full of unique locations and unique bosses.

The Dreamborne Isles

The Dreamborne Isles

Welcome to the Dreamborne Isles, an amusement park of the mind where paths twist and cross, doorways lead to unexpected places, and mystery surrounds every turn. Here you will find around a dozen unique, detailed dreamscapes to explore, including lush forests, cascading rivers and falls, ancient cities, intricate cave systems, and a couple more alien locales.

Solstheim - The Lost Levels

Solstheim - The Lost Levels

Solstheim – The Lost Levels is an add-on for the Dragonborn DLC that adds 6 caves, 8 plants, 1 book and 4 quests. The content is based on The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind and its expansion, Bloodmoon.

Darkend

Darkend

A pretty unique and Dark Souls inspired island fortress you can travel to. There are plenty of places to explore there and enemies to fight, but there isn't exactly a quest there.

Legacy of the Dragonborn

Legacy of the Dragonborn

(aka Dragonborn Gallery) is a mod centered around endgame content. Meet the curator Auryen Morellus at the museum in Solitude and he will help guide you in your quest to gather the many relics of Tamriel's history as well as provide a fully equipped player home and many many more quests as well.

The Gray Cowl of Nocturnal

The Gray Cowl of Nocturnal

A really well made and interesting quest mod that makes you travel all the way to Hammerfell to find the Gray Cowl from Oblivion. The story is fairly simple and fun and so are all of the new places you visit. The only real problems is the voice acting but that's to be expected with most mods and that it's pretty lore breaking. Highly recommend this if you're looking for a new quest mod to dig into.

Moon and Star

Moon and Star

A nice and simple quest mod revolving around dunmer and dwemer. It has good voice acting and actually adds a lot of extra things to go along with the quest itself. Well worth a try!

Inferno- Envoys of End

Inferno- Envoys of End

Probably the most badass dragon mod out there right now. Inferno adds new quests to the game relating to fire and a group called the Ascended. The mini bosses offer new spells but are basically just damage sponges. The REAL badass part about this mod is of course the dragons. They have new textures and new shouts that will rape you and look good at the same time. These bosses are brutal and have no mercy whatsoever. Prepare your anus.

Ogmunds Tomb

Ogmunds Tomb

Ogmunds Tomb is a quick and simple dungeon mod with the usual bandits and draugr like in the vanilla game. What's different about this is that it looks more unique than what Bethesda can make and is great for taking screenshots with its picturesque lighting sources.

Heimfeigr

Heimfeigr

A small part of a major quest mod. It adds a new town, voiced npcs, new quests, and deep dark dungeon. It's very large and atmospheric with large nordic tombs and puzzles that'll keep you guessing at each turn! The dungeon itself is well crafted and beautiful at some points. You won't see that in a vanilla dungeon, at least not at this kind of scale!

Moonpath to Elsweyr

Moonpath to Elsweyr

Probably one of the coolest and most unique quest mods out there. The only downside is that the locations are very linear, it's pretty short, and the quests are boring. It looks cool though, right?

Wyrmstooth

Wyrmstooth

A nicely sized quest mod, with interesting quests and characters, decent voice acting, and a really generic and boring landscape. It's not that great, but it's good for a one time try.

Skyrim Sewers 4

Skyrim Sewers 4

What better way to play an Elder Scrolls game without going THROUGH THE FUCKING SEWERS?!?! None.

Undeath

Undeath

Stop necromancers from doing necromancy things in this amazing new questline. It's really well done and it even adds a ton of new features to the Necromancy school of sorcery as well. New spells and traits can be unlocked when you finish this quest!

Nuvanja - A New Dwemer Dungeon

Nuvanja - A New Dwemer Dungeon

A simple dungeon with a huge emphasis and dwemer technology and water. Explore the excavation, fight through bandits and dwemer centurions, solve puzzles, and have fun with this simple yet amazing looking dungeon!

Beyond Reach

Beyond Reach

Beyond reach is an expansive world space mod that takes place... beyond the reach, just east of High Rock! Explore dark and grim looking locations as well as partake in a variety of new quests.

Den Erovrade Staden - The Conquered City

Den Erovrade Staden - The Conquered City

AKA The Conquered City in English. This is a German dwemer dungeon mod featuring lots of Whirlwind Sprint based puzzles.

The Shadow of Meresis

The Shadow of Meresis

A pretty spooky, but quite well done, quest and dungeon delving mod about spooky stu- look just get it alright?

Forgotten City

Forgotten City

The Forgotten City is an expansion mod offering a unique 6 - 8 hour experience: a murder mystery investigation set in an ancient underground city. You'll need to solve it using your wits, and the ability to travel through time. It has a dark, non-linear story in which you'll interrogate suspects, explore the city and its many secrets, and navigate challenging moral dilemmas. -10/10 IGN "it's okay"

The Hanging Gardens - A Quest

The Hanging Gardens - A Quest

A quest mod playing out on a remote abandoned Dwemer island/outpost with a secret, featuring a medium length quest for mid/high level player characters with an interest in exploring, new surroundings, and a good fight. Features voiced NPC, unique items & ingredients found only on the island, 2 smallish worldspaces, 14 or so interior cells, sea travel complete with pirate raids, a metric ton of dwemer treasure and a foe thought long gone from this realm.

This mod adds new content to the quest mod Beyond Reach. It adds things like cloaks and shields, a notice board, an actual border connecting Skyrim and High Rock and much more!

Paper World Map Addons

Paper World Map Addons

Paper World Map addon for Wyrmstooth, The Grey Cowl of Nocturnal mod. and a Better Paper World Map for Dragonborn. The actual addon for Dragonborn on the main mod page is inaccurate. It also has Falskaar but we don't take that shit around here. He has plans for other new land mods, voice your opinion in the comments section if you want said mod to be made like Vigilant, Beyond Reach, or others.

Towns and Settlements

The small towns suck, like Riverwood and even so called "holds" like Morthal. Most of them are just little huts and they just look boring compared to towns in Oblivion or even in Morrowind! So here are a few mods to liven up the small settlements and add new ones too. NOTE: You should carefully read the mod page descriptions. Some of these mods could be incompatible together!

Expanded Towns and Cities

Most city expansion mods just add more trees everywhere because the modders that make them are dumb. This modder isn't dumb, and actually went about expanding those towns and cities properly. The mod pack adds new buildings and clutters around small hamlets, towns, and city outskirts to make them look bigger and unique. As well as add a few unique textures here and there to differentiate towns that look similar. And now since it's been combined with Immersive Towns and cities, this is really the only town mod you need. So now there's less risk for more reward. The mod is still modular, so feel free to customize any set of towns you like.

Snakestone's Guide

Lets face it, Skyrim feels empty and the "cities" are small and boring. My guide will help make the towns and cities feel bigger and lived in, it will also add more life to Skyrim in the ways of more towns and cities for you to explore.

Dawn of Skyrim Collection

A collection of city overhauls by BluePianoTwo. Each city has been overhauled to fit their themes better while not cluttering the place with trees everywhere. For example, Whiterun has more trading stalls for a trade city and Windhelm has an extended grey quarter which feels more cramped. These overhauls also add extra NPCs and vendors to make the towns feel more lively compared to the dozen unique characters living in the cities besides the guards.

JK's City Overhauls

Yet another collection of city overhauls for all five of the main holds. Like the Dawn of Skyrim series, these mods add more clutter and architectural pieces around each city. What's great about these mods is that they are being made compatible with Dawn of Skyrim. So now you can have both overhauls at the same time to make your cities even twice as unique! Just remember to download the compatibility patches for each hold.
Enhanced Solitude

Enhanced Solitude

The best Solitude mods, merged together into a single plugin, with multiple fixes, tweaks and enhancements.

Palaces and Castles Enhanced

Palaces and Castles Enhanced

The New Winking Skeever

The New Winking Skeever

An overhaul of The Winking Skeever's interior, designed to both better match the exterior shape of the building, and to hopefully be a bit more visually appealing.

The Seaside Library

The Seaside Library

A free reading place for all citizens of Tamriel, the Seaside Library is managed by Metteri, a Breton, her husband Adairan (former Thalmor captain - I know this may not be very lore-friendly), and their daughter. You may hear about its grand opening by picking up a pamphlet; they are scattered around Skyrim's inns.

Imperial Stone -The Forts of Skyrim Redone

Imperial Stone -The Forts of Skyrim Redone

The forts of Skyrim look as though they have been abandoned for 400 years. This mod aims to change that up a little. New structures and walls have been built in the major forts of Skyrim. Some walls are still wooden palisades until a civil war faction takes over from the bandits. The walls and decorations will dynamically change depending on which faction currently has ownership of the fort.

Windhelm Bridge Overhaul

Windhelm Bridge Overhaul

Removes all the flora and snowdrifts from the bridge, removes flora from the rockcliff near the entrance to Windhelm City (dead shrub and tree vine mapel), also removes a few CWrubble. Tactical Valtheim

Tactical Valtheim

Tactical Valtheim is a redesign of Valtheim Towers into Valtheim Keep. Built on and around the original Valtheim, trying to make it into an actual fortress while maintaining something like the original atmosphere and style.

Whiterun Expansion Redone

Whiterun Expansion Redone

Whiterun is at the center of Skyrim making it the trading capital. Whiterun is also the first city the player is likely to visit. Therefore we should be treated to a much larger city to begin our journey. Whiterun will almost double in size by expanding the northeastern region of the city. All additions have been added outside of Whiterun in an area normally overlooked by other modders to preserve as much compatibility as possible. MAKE SURE TO GET THE NON-OPEN CITIES VERSION

Stryker's Patches JK's Skyrim/ETaC

Stryker's Patches JK's Skyrim/ETaC

Helsmyrr Village

Helsmyrr is a lore friendly village located in Rift hold. The village comes complete with all your basic essentials and more refined shops, interiors and npc's. The village is fully functional but will be polished over time.

Unique Border Gates

Unique Border Gates

Unique Border Gates redesigns the border crossings of Cyrodill, Hammerfell and Morrowind by adding new, unique and immersive gates. No two are alike and I believe the design reflects the area well. Each location is discover-able and you can fast travel after discovery.

SeaPoint Settlement

SeaPoint Settlement

SeaPoint Settlement is a little fishing town near the north coast, near Castle Volkihar.

Winterhold - Expanded Ruins

Winterhold - Expanded Ruins

This adds extra ruins to Winterhold, making it feel like something bad really did happen which caused parts of the town to sink.

Hold Border Banners

Hold Border Banners

Adds banners at crossroads which mark the borders between each region/hold in Skyrim. It reminds me of how faction regions were split in WOW except in this game, it doesn't really matter gameplay wise and is only for aesthetics.
